Becca is a dedicated screenwriter with a penchant for genre stories. She cut her teeth writing nearly 200 episodes of the U.S. kids TV show Power Rangers, where she worked her way up to head writer/co-producer before the show ended its 30 year run.
A highlight in those roles was the show Power Rangers: Dino Fury winning the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Kids & Family Programming. In 2023 the franchise celebrated its 30th anniversary with the Netflix special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always. Scripted and Co-Produced by Becca Barnes and Alwyn Dale, it was viewed over 12 million times and reached Netflix’s top 10 movies in multiple territories, including the USA.
This year Becca is writing a three book series of young adult graphic novels, the first of which slated to be published in 2027. She’s also been working on several adaptation projects for major New Zealand books.
Becca has a slate of adult, young adult and children’s projects in the action/adventure, sci-fi and comedy genres available for reading, as well as enthusiasm for diving into the deep-end of existing story worlds.
